To all the schools,
Hold your students accountable
Do not stand by and tell me that a hate crime is a “teachable moment”
Hold your students accountable and check how your staff is working.
And to the parents,
When your child tells you this is happening, start something
I am not saying anything violent. I'm saying stand up. Rally others, your kid should not be being told by anybody that their pain is only but a teachable moment.
The steps to a society where we are all equal starts with us reminding these people that hate is not and will never be alright.
